ASSA – Les Amis de la Salle Sainte-Anne
Our association is in charge of the management of a cultural and social hall in which we organise various events to offer our public the opportunity to share human ventures : community meals, family or club celebrations, workshops, sport, all sorts of shows etc.
The Compagnie du Rocher Bayard is an emanation of ASSA. We propose at least 3 theatre plays a year. We have a teenage group and an intergeneration one. We perform historical plays that we write about the very rich heritage of our region, pieces from the classical or contemporary repertories. Our specificity : hybrid theatre, which means that we very often bring different techniques together : text, live music, dance, songs, acrobatics, wizards… Once a year, mostly in Summer time, we present an outside performance to highlight a site, an anniversary or a famous person (Adolphe Sax, Leffe Abbey, painters…)
Our strength: we’re all volunteers.
Our association welcomes a diverse range of participants across different age groups and backgrounds:
-Children & Teenagers:through our teenage theater group, young participants develop artistic skills, creativity, and confidence while engaging with classical, contemporary, and historical plays.
-Adults: we offer opportunities for amateur actors, club members, and community participants to take part in theater productions, workshops, and cultural events.
-Seniors: our intergenerational theater group fosters social connection and lifelong learning, allowing seniors to share their experience while engaging in artistic expression.
-Families & Community Members: through community meals, celebrations, and workshops, we create inclusive spaces for people of all ages to gather and interact.
-Artists & Performers:we collaborate with musicians, dancers, acrobats, and other performers to enrich our hybrid theater productions, offering creative opportunities for professionals and volunteers alike.
